Elections

Overview

City elections are always held in odd years with the terms taking effect January 1 after the election. Charles City has no wards or precincts, so all councilmembers are elected at large. Elections are conducted by the Floyd County auditor.

The city recently changed its election precincts from a total of four to a total of three. To find out which precinct you are in and where your polling place is located, contact the Floyd County Auditor’s Office at (641) 257-6131. To register to vote or to fill out an absentee ballot, contact the Auditor’s Office as well.
